The Daring Escape from the KGB

  • The Daring Escape from the KGB

    August 26th at 6:30 p.m.
  • In 1970, twenty-two year old Yosef Mendelevich made news around the world with a daring attempt to escape from the Soviet Union with a group of Jews by hijacking a plane. The KGB arrested them all before they could board the plane resulting in the infamous Leningrad Trial. He was imprisoned for 11 years in the Soviet Gulag along with dissident Natan Sharansky. When he was finally released as a result of massive international pressure and protests he immigrated to Israel where he received a hero’s welcome.

Join us for a heroic story of faith, courage and survival with special guest Rabbi Yosef Mendelevich.
